In one of their briefest meetings ever, on March 18, North Charleroi Borough Council voted to approve a new handicapped parking space for a resident at 417 Center Avenue.

Mayor Lee Hall read council members a request from the resident who stated he has no other available places to park except for in the front of his house. Hall told council members that he checked the area and determined that the request was valid. The resident also produced documentation on the need for the handicapped space.

In the financial report, Councilman Steve Hega said the borough had a cash balance of $91,284, following the payment of borough bills. Hega reported outstanding bills amounted to approximately $3,400. Council members voted unanimously to pay the borough’s bills.

Council was able to complete all business within a five-minute period.
The next regularly scheduled meeting will be April 15, at 6:30 pm.
