Belle Vernon Mayor Gerald Jackson II took a moment to recognize the borough salt crews at the February 11, 2013 City Council meeting. Mayor Jackson commented that he thought they were doing a great job and to keep up the excellent work.

The Borough has been receiving several complaints about cars without license plates being parked on Main Street. It was noted by Council President Joe Minniti that these cars belong to a car dealership and because of that it is legal for them to remain parked on the street, but as a result of the complaints, the city will be looking into parking ordinances to ensure none are been violated by the dealer.

Council mentioned they are in need of new flags to hang in the park and throughout town; they are looking into having the flags donated from several different organizations.

The next Bicentennial fundraising event is set for Sunday, March 17. A St. Patrick’s Day dance/dinner will be held at the fire hall from 12-6 p.m.
