Belle Vernon Borough Council met on January 14, 2013 for their first meeting of the New Year.  Council announced two fundraising events for the up coming Bicentennial celebration.

On Saturday, February 16th a Valentine’s Dance will be held at the Belle Vernon Fire Hall from 8 p.m. to midnight, and a St. Patrick’s dinner will be held in March featuring a traditional Irish dinner. More details will follow as they become available.

Also during the meeting, Council discussed the possibility of hiring a substitute on-call crossing-guard for the Borough and an announcement was made that the fire department will have a fish dinner at the fire hall on Ash Wednesday and every Friday during Lent.

Lastly, Mr. Frank Monack was reappointed to a five-year term on the Municipal Authority and Borough Council; Council thanked Mr. Monack for his previous years of service.
