Festivities included a Firemen's Parade, food, entertainment, a soccer exhibition, raffles, live music, face-painting, crafts and more.

“The one year anniversary means we are still moving forward, and we have not failed," said R.J. Sokol, NBV councilman, and chair of Parks and Recreation. "We’ve had many wonderful, positive experiences at NBV Community Bank Park since it has opened.”

Sokol, who played a big part in gathering funding for the renovation of the park, which re-opened on August 21, 2016 added, “I owe many thanks to many different people and companies from all over the United States. NBV still needs funds to properly maintain this wonderful facility, so we are always fundraising and asking for help.”
