Read more...The 6th Annual Roctober Car Cruise will be held on Saturday, October 4 from 12- 4 p.m. at 501 Vine Street Park, West Newton. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and entry fee is $5. There will be dash plaques and goody bags for the first 100 registrants. We will have 35 trophies awarded by a panel of judges and a cash award and special plaque donated by Area 51 Auto.
Read more...Over the last few years, there have been a couple of instances of fairly large aircraft landing on too-short runways (at the wrong airport) and of near misses around airports. The Federal Aviation Administration has plans in the works. At the October meeting of the Retired Men's Luncheon Group of Pleasant Hills, Henrik Vejlstrup of the FAA will discuss Next Gen, a new high tech way of controlling air traffic. Mr. Vejlstrup flew as a pilot for 23 years before joining the FAA 18 years ago.
