Seniors

First off, we have changed our name - we are now the Center for Active Adults of West Newton. Our location is 103 E. Main St., West Newton. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Our phone number is 724-872-4976.

As of July 1, Nutrition Inc. has taken over the management of the West Newton and Monessen Senior Centers. Additionally, Lou Ann has been promoted to director of both centers and Lisa Marchetti has been hired as the manager in West Newton. Our programs are still being run in cooperation with the Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging.

Everyone is welcome. A lunch donation of $2 is asked for people 60+ years, and for people under 60, the donation is $3.33. There is no fee to join, and every week we offer:

If you or someone you know is in need of equipment for assistance, we have wheelchairs, walkers, bath chairs, canes, and potty chairs for you to borrow.

The Center has monthly gambling trips and Nov. 8 is our Canton Ohio trip to the Football Hall of Fame, President McKinley's Museum, and Canton Art Center's Chriskindl shops with buffet luncheon at the McKinley Museum. Cost is $90.

We have also opened a craft room and will sell crafts daily. Stop in and visit our busy, enjoyable center.
