Mrs. Reeb will use the 3D printer to provide students with the ability to take their computerized drawings and create models and prototypes as used in the manufacturing industry.

According to Mrs. Reeb, “Most manufacturing companies are starting to utilize 3-dimensional printers to create prototypes and models to see if the product will meet the needs of the user before spending a lot of money on materials and building costs. I was interested in the PPG Innovative Classroom Grant to help fund my project idea of bringing more STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) skills into the classroom for both the male and female population, and create a higher-level manufacturing skillset to educate students about 3D design and prototyping with a 3D printer.”

With the use of 3D printing, students can become inventors and visionaries by easily fabricating prototypes for their designs which they could only depict in 2-dimensional printing.
