8th grader Joey Belmont won the Edward Martin Ryan Jr. Memorial Scholarship to Seton–LaSalle, 8th grader Morgan Shepard was selected as the 2013 Carson Scholar, and 8th grader Mary Kutschke was awarded the St. Francis Academy Alumnae Scholarship to Seton-La Salle High School.

Congratulations goes out to Mrs. Laird, our upper level science teacher on receiving the 2013 Golden Apple award from the diocese for excellent performance in teaching. St. Katharine
Drexel has had an unprecedented five teachers earn the Golden Apple award since its opening 5 years ago. 8th graders took their Living Stations of the Cross on the road to St. Joan of Arc, Nativity and St. Germaine churches. All three congregations commended the group for an outstanding job bringing this solemn service to a realistic light. Devin Gilfoyle was selected as first seat, first section for the Diosesan All-Star Band. Honorable mention also goes to Allyson Podrasky and Ayonna Christopher who were first sear second section for flute and clarinet respectively.
