The Charleroi Area Historical Society invites its members, members of other area historical societies, and area residents to the 3rd annual Olde Fallowfield Twp. Reunion Picnic on Monday evening, July 18. The picnic begins at 6 p.m.

It's a unique picnic because it is held indoors and is air conditioned in Riverside Place in the SPHS (Senior Center) building, 303 Chamber Plaza (formerly Montgomery Ward), Charleroi. Look for directional signs at the corner of 5th and McKean Aves. and inside the Chamber Plaza parking lot.

Why call it the Olde Fallowfield Twp. Reunion Picnic? Fallowfield Twp. used to cover almost the entire area in and around Charleroi. Although many original families have moved and relocated, they still have ties to and fond memories of the area.

Therefore, the picnic will be a time to share such memories and hopefully meet new or familiar faces, just like at a family reunion.

We hope to fill Riverside Place and hear area Historical Societies representatives briefly tell their stories and what's currently happening in their societies. Our Washington

County commissioners will again be invited ,and don't be surprised if there is some live entertainment this year! We hope to see you at the picnic beginning at 6 p.m.

All who plan to attend are asked to bring a picnic side dish and/or dessert. Fried chicken, beverages and tableware will be provided.

Please R.S.V.P. by July 11. Historical Societies can RSVP with their total number attending. Call the CAHS, Inc. (the historic Gaoziou Print Shop) at 724-483-4961 or Ken Thompson at 724-925-1742.

The Charleroi Area Historical Society programs are held on the 3rd Monday of the month, March through November. These programs are always free and open to the public. For more program or membership information, call the numbers listed above.
