Trinity Bell Choir

Liven Up Your Holidays with Fresh Greens

  • Wednesday, December 3, 7 - 8:30 p.m.

Celebrate the season with a touch of nature. Designers from Crossroad Florist will demonstrate several ideas to use live evergreen and boxwood to create beautiful holiday decorations. Register to attend by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org or call 724-941-9430.

Sewing Machine Basics

  • Thursday, December 4, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
  • Cost: $5
  • Minimum age: 12

The library has acquired a Janome Sewist 500 sewing machine to help furnish our new Maker Space. Join Sue Gates, owner of Sew Much Fun, to learn some of the basic requirements needed to operate the machine. Register at the library's circulation desk.

Embroidery Machine Basics

  • Minimum age: 12

Beginning Genealogy Workshop

  • Friday, December 5, 1 - 3:30 p.m.

Members of the Genealogy Society of Western Pennsylvania will be available to offer one-on-one sessions for individuals interested in getting started finding their ancestors. Register to attend by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org or call 724-941-9430.

Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Party

  • Sunday, December 7, 6 p.m.

Join us at the library for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Party, held in partnership with the Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department. Festivities will include lighting and decorating the outdoors township tree at 6 p.m., followed by holiday caroling. Refreshments, visits with Santa, and holiday crafts for children will be offered in the library.

Computers 101

  • Tuesday, December 9, 7 - 8:45 p.m.
  • Cost: $5

Determine what computer to buy by looking at what you want to do with it. Participants will learn about: the various parts of a computer and what they do, computer terminology, software that will be needed, and useful techniques that will make using computers easier. Pre-registration is required by Monday, December 9. Registration is not complete until payment is received; register at the library's circulation desk.

Laughter Club

  • Thursday, December 18, 10 - 11 a.m.

The Laughter Clubs promote laughter inside to support happiness outside. Participants get together to use laughter to improve health and outlook, as laughter can reduce stress, strengthen your immune system, and lower your blood pressure.
