The Greater Washington County Food Bank and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce that they will once again be holding the 8th Annual Taste of Washington on Thursday, October 9 from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the Meadows Casino.

 

The event will feature culinary delights from local eateries, music, gift baskets, raffles, and more! The cost to attend is just $35 with an advance ticket and $40 at the door. All proceeds from the event will benefit the work of the Greater Washington County Food Bank and their mission to end hunger in Washington County.

There are many different ways to support this great event. Businesses and individuals that wish to be involved as a vendor, sponsor, or attendee are encouraged to contact the Greater Washington County Food Bank. The mission of the Greater Washington County Food Bank is to provide food and nutritional education to those residents of Washington County who are food insecure. For over 30 years, the Greater Washington County Food Bank, a non-profit organization, has been providing groceries and nutritional information to food insecure residents of Washington County.

The Food Bank distributes to as many as 5,200 families each month through our network of 38 pantries and 5 agencies located throughout the county. Currently 30% of our recipients are children under the age of 18, and over 20% are seniors. The Food Bank relies primarily on community support to meet these objectives in a caring and compassionate way.
