Every car cruise has the usual assortment of Corvettes, Mustangs, Chevelles, and the wildly popular Tri-5's (1955-56-57 Chevys). However, at the Thomas Community Pig Roast and Car Cruise, held on August 23 at the Thomas Presbyterian Church on Linden Road in Eighty Four, PA, a few one-of-a-kind vehicles rolled in.

A show-room quality 1937 Ford was displayed by John "Buck" Dagnall of Cecil, who has owned the car for 21 years. The renovation project returned the car to its original like-new condition.

For instance, there was a 1958 Anglia made by Ford in England, a beastly 1955 Dodge Power Wagon, and a 1958 King Midget, which hasn't been produced since the Midget factory in Athens, OH closed its doors in 1970. Cars at this cruise were imported to Pennsylvania from Minnesota, Vermont, New York, and England.

Outdoors, tunes of "Music Everyone Remembers" was provided by DJ's Fritz and Judy. In addition to the variety of vehicles in the parking lot, the indoor portion of the event included a pig roast along with other sandwiches and optional side dishes. Other activities included a performance by Dalton Lee, the illusionist and magician, as well as musical entertainment and a Chinese auction.

This fundraiser was held on behalf of the Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
