The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum has a special two-day event Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13 starting at 10 a.m. each day. It is designed for trolley fans and trolley modelers, featuring a large award-winning, custom-built layout by members of the East Penn Traction Club. A number of vendors catering to model trolley enthusiasts and trolley fans will also be available as well as special trolley operations.

 

Admission is $25 for adults, $19 for children (ages 3-15), and children under 3 are free. Admission includes both days of activities (Friday and Saturday) which includes special exhibits and trolley operations, a program Friday night and a night photo session on Saturday night.

This year, the Museum celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the first three streetcars arriving at the museum site in February 1954. The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum opened to the public nine years later in 1963 in order to communicate the story of Pennsylvania's Trolley Era. Currently, the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum has 50 historic electric railway vehicles and is maintained and operated by over 150 volunteers and a small paid staff.

The museum is open to the public from April 4 through December 14. Hours are Friday (10 a.m. -4 p.m.), Saturday and Sunday (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) during April and May, September- December. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day the museum is open10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and10 a.m. -5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Directions: From Pittsburgh, take I-79 to exit 41, Race Track Road, or take US Route 19 to Race Track Road, or from the South take I-79 to exit 40 Meadow Lands and then follow the signs approximately 3 miles to the museum.
