Clairton Memories
Come and reminisce. Stop at the library on Friday, September 6 from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Historical records, copies the Clairton High School yearbooks going back to the early 1900s, photos, and old editions of the “Clairton Progress” will be available. This activity is being planned prior to the Clairton Alumni Reunion Picnic.
Friends
You too can become a member of the Friends of the Clairton Public Library (FOL). The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the library. Remember: “Friends are citizens who value the service of libraries and volunteer to help them.”
Book Clubs
Our library hosts two Book Clubs. One is held on the second Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. Their current read is The Art of Hearing Heartbeats. The second club meets every third Monday at 9:00 a.m. September’s selection is Bridesmaids Revisited. Anyone interested in joining may stop in at the library and request a copy of the month’s book. Come, make friends and have a stimulating chat along with coffee and some goodies.
Fall Wise Walk
Do you want to get moving? Do you enjoy having company? Then sign up for the library’s ten-week, Wise Walk Program. Participants will meet at the library on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. starting September 21. To register or get more information, please stop in at the Clairton Library main desk.
Spirit Night
Please join us for a special value “Spirit Night.” Coupons are available only at Clairton Library any day from now until September 25. Take your coupon to Chik-fil-A (Pleasant Hills) and receive a discount on your dinner. The restaurant will then donate a portion of the price of your discounted dinner to the library. This “Spirit Night” coupon is good only on September 25 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Used Book Day
On Thursday, September 26, Clairton Library will be holding a special used book sale. Stock up on reading material for the cold weather ahead with your choice of hardback or paperback, adult or children books. Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
