Enjoy Fine Art, Music and Refreshments

The Valley Art Club will present their 71st Annual Exhibition beginning Sunday, September 22. The opening reception is from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Monessen Public Library and District Center located at 326 Donner Avenue, Monessen. There is ample street parking, and a parking lot.

The public is invited to enjoy a wide variety of fine art with music provided by the Laurel Mountain Winds group. Refreshments will be provided. The library setting is open and comfortable with adequate seating for you to enjoy the art and meet the artists.

The exhibition will be juried by Patrick Daugherty, well-known and respected for his portrait art and for his detailed realistic paintings of other subjects. He has been elected 2013 Artist of the Year by the Board of Directors at Touchstone Center for Crafts.

The theme of this year’s exhibition is “TOYS”. The subject may be old or new. It will be fun seeing how the artists represent toys in their paintings.

The Exhibition will be open for public viewing from Sunday, September 22 to Friday, October 4. The library hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
