An Awards Assembly at Ringgold Middle School was held on Wednesday June 5, 2013. At that time the winners of the American Legion School Awards were announced.

This year’s recipients are Sydney Drischler, daughter of Mr. Ronald and Kimberly Drischler of Monongahela, PA and Zachary Mendola, son of Mr. Jeffery and Christine of Monongahela, PA.

The American Legion Award places emphasis on the development of the qualities of Courage, Honor, Leadership, Patriotism, Scholarship and Service - the ideals of Americanism which will make young people citizens of the highest type. The award recognizes the boy and girl who is most worthy of the highest qualities of citizenship and of true Americanism.

The awards were presented by members of the American Legion Post #613, Finleyville.
