Celebrate America Festival
GMHS will participate in the Celebrate America Festival on Saturday, July 13 at the Herman Mihalich River Launch along Monongahela Street, Monessen. The Society will be selling chili dogs, pop, water and Museum Shoppe items.

Founders Day Celebration
In honor of Monessen’s 115th anniversary, GMHS will host a two day Founder’s Day celebration on Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18 at Monessen City Park. The Living History Weekend will feature a Civil War encampment, vendors, demonstrations, games, children’s activities and family fun.

Roaring Twenties Night
A Roaring Twenties night is planned for Saturday, September 21 at St. Spyridon’s Church Hall at 1207 Grand Blvd., Monessen. A buffet dinner and dance will be held to benefit the Society. Tickets are $40 and available at the Monessen Heritage Museum, 505 Donner Avenue, during regular business hours or by calling 724-684-8460. Seating is limited. Historic dress encouraged.

Summer Exhibit: Monessen Schools
The summer exhibit at the Heritage Museum will look at the history of Monessen schools. Photos are needed that show the old school buildings, teachers, classes, school events, etc. Anyone having items to either loan or donate are asked to contact the Museum.
