The Elizabeth Borough Fire Department recently held an open house to encourage residents to stop by and meet the firefighters, and explore the equipment.

Landen Sanner loved the view from the seat of the fire truck!
There were 911 operators on hand to talk to children about the proper steps to take when calling 911, such as remaining calm, how to answer operators questions and not to hang up in the middle of the call. They had a variety of phones to practice from including a cell phone, TTY phone, cordless phone and corded phone.

Guests at the Open House received an assortment of trinkets, such as, pencils, book marks, travel band-aids, coins and more. The firefighters provided important emergency literature and Tot Finder stickers for visitors. The firemen were also prepared for the children with tattoos, fire helmets, stickers, and coloring books. A buffet of sandwiches, chips, cookies and juice were also provided.
