You are cordially invited to help celebrate Earth Day in California! The borough of California, California University of Pennsylvania and the River Town Program will be holding a community clean up and celebration on Monday April 22.

In case of inclement weather a rain date has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 24.

The clean-up will cover the areas between Mechanic Street, East Street, 1st Street along Wyatt Park and ending along 3rd Street. The work performed that day will include removing trash and improving the general cleanliness of the downtown area.
The event is meant to help beautify the downtown area and bring members of the community together for a day of service, fun, and celebration. Clean-up hours will be held from 10 am to 5 pm. Following the clean-up will be a community celebration at Jozart Center for the Arts located on 201 Wood Street. The celebration will include food, music, educational information, games, and prizes. The winner of a special raffle for all of the day’s volunteers will be announced at 6pm!

To register as a volunteer for this event, provide sponsorship, or make a donation to the event, contact Catherine Salvatore at 724-643-7017 or sca.csalvatore@gmail.com.
