St. Francis Parish Youth Group Works to Stop Hunger

Members of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Youth Group spent time during Super Bowl weekend collecting funds after masses in support of the “Souper Bowl of Caring.”

This is a national movement of young people working to fight hunger and poverty in their own communities. Donations go directly to the local hunger-relief charity of their choice, and St. Francis of Assisi Youth Group collected $938, which they donated to the Finleyville Food Bank. Nationwide, the movement has generated more than $5 million in food and cash.
The students in the St. Francis of Assisi Youth Group deserve some recognition for the great work they’re doing in assisting at the food bank. They are:

Rose Jasko also spearheaded a soup can drive at Ringgold High School. Adult helpers and advisors for the youth group are Mary Jane Jurofcik, Kathy Pitzer, Karen Jaki, and Sue and John Hoover. The food bank always accepts donations and help. To volunteer, call 724-348-7821.
