Guy Reschenthaler
Reschenthaler, 29, is a South Hills native who served in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General Corps after graduating from Duquesne University School of Law.

While on active duty, Reschenthaler deployed to Baghdad, where he prosecuted 92 terrorists. Serving as the Officer-in-Charge of the Texas-Oklahoma Area of Operations from 2010 to the spring of 2012, Reschenthaler litigated numerous cases, earning the Michael Taylor Shelby Award for ethics, dedication, and professionalism in federal litigation. Since returning to Jefferson Hills, Reschenthaler practices law in a South Hills law firm, defending businesses against frivolous lawsuits. He is also handling a high-profile appeal of a Navy SEAL wrongfully discharged after exercising his First Amendment right of free speech.

Reschenthaler said that he is passionate about service to his community. “After living in three states and serving abroad in the Navy, I knew it was time to return to Pittsburgh—it’s home. The position of district magistrate judge would give me the opportunity to continue my service while using my experience as a Navy lawyer and civilian litigator to help the community. I believe I am uniquely qualified for that task.”
