The Monongahela Police Department reported that 62,146 miles were logged on their five police cruisers during 2012.

Within their jurisdiction of Monongahela, New Eagle, and Finleyville combined, there were 3,719 calls made to the police, resulting in 56 categories of 3,833 infractions of the law. Shown below are the most and least common categories, and the respective number of infractions registered:

There were 305 traffic citations issued, police investigated 219 traffic accidents, and there were no fatalities.

There were 349 criminal arrests in 62 categories; some are listed as follows:

Only one criminal arrest was made in each of the following categories: Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, Identity Theft, Unlawful Contact With a Minor, Tampering With Public Records, Insurance Fraud, False Reports to Law Enforcement, Motor Vehicle Theft, Robbery, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Theft by Failure to Make Disposition of Funds, Intimidation of Witness, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Interference of Custody, Kidnapping, Indecent Deviate Sexual Intercourse / Forcible Compulsion, Statutory Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault / Forcible Compulsion, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Indecent Assault / Less than 13 Y.O.A., Indecent Assault / Less than 13 Y.O.A., Possession of Obscene Sexual Material, and Tampering With Records or Falsifies ID.
