Alexandra the Great Silver Tetradrachm and Drachm Coins!

The program will be held at Wrights United Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, in Venetia.  McGee’s talk will focus on the ancient coinage of Alexander the Great, whose coins were principally made to pay soldiers, levies, taxes and later protection money to barbarians.  Struck in silver and gold in huge quantities, an impressive amount of these ancient artifacts have survived in good condition over the course of 2,300 years.  Attend this program to learn about the numismatic history of Alexander the Great coins and see one of them first hand.
