A Classic Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show was held by the Monessen Library on August 10, 2019, at the Herman Mihalich Boat Launch in Monessen.   Registration was $10 per car which included dash plaques, trophies and awards. There were 46 vehicles registered for the event.

Along with the car show, a picnic took place in a pavilion near the Boat Launch featuring a barbeque, a bake sale, a Chinese Auction, 50/50 raffle, and a live DJ and announcer – Bill Lemon, a retired police officer from Donora.

Kathy Mappas, Library Board Member President, stated that they held the special event to raise money due to budget cuts. “Library Board Member, Glenda Mavrakis suggested that we have a car show, and I think it was a great idea,” said Mappas. “Everybody is out here having a great time.”
