The meeting and presentation will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Main Street in Monongahela at 7:00 PM. (Please use rear/Chess Street entrance).

The presentation on wedding cookie tables will be given by local historian and documentarian, Laura M. Magone. In July 2017, Ms. Magone was tasked with driving “store bought” cookies to a cousin’s wedding in Indianapolis where homemade cookies were not allowed. Laura produced a short video on the subject and it has been viewed over 20,000 times on Facebook in three weeks. She is working on a wedding cookie table documentary and wedding cookie cookbook.

During the presentation, Ms. Magone will trace the evolution of wedding cookie tables in Southwestern PA and Western OH by looking at ethnic groups that have had cookie tables over the years. She will talk about how the tradition is carried out today. The meeting will feature a wedding cookie table for guests to enjoy.

Ms. Magone has a Facebook page called "TheWeddingCookieTable" and a website called :www.theweddingcookietable.com

There is no cost to attend and registration is not required. The public is invited.
