Broad Avenue merchants in North Belle Vernon will hold their 4th annual Antiques and Artisans on the Avenue Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Vendors from the surrounding area have been invited to set up in front of various locations along the avenue for one day to sell antiques and handcrafted items. This event has grown significantly over the past couple years and has become a major street event for the local community.

With any large event, the beginning years are ever-changing to create a successful venue. A few of the changes this year include The Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce partnering with the local antique shops (Antiques on Broad, Broad Avenue Treasures and Vintage & Vines) in order to promote growth. The event’s name has also been changed to “Antiques and Artisans on the Avenue” to include the many local artisans producing top-quality handmade products around the area.

All local merchants are encouraged to participate by coming out on to the street with antique flea markets, sidewalk sales and/or just opening up their store fronts to encourage visitors to stroll the avenue. Broad Avenue is made up of some wonderful small businesses, including antique shops, boutiques, gift shops, a bakery, flower shop, taverns, salons, offices and many other unique merchants.

The day will include antique flea markets, sales, handmade items, food, fun and entertainment. Local residents are encouraged to have neighborhood yard sales on this day and/or just stroll the avenue.

Join us this year as we continue to “grow the avenue” and create a viable shopping atmosphere for our community in Belle Vernon. This is a “rain or shine” event.
Local artisans and/or antique dealers interested in setting up for this growing event, please contact the Chamber at 724-929-3329 or email grcoc1@comcast.net.
