The Mrs. Claus Club of Bentleyville made a very gracious donation to the Charles L. and Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Pavilion and Regional Cancer Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital (MVH).

The club donated a white Christmas tree adorned with hand-decorated ornaments. Each ornament is uniquely decorated with a cancer ribbon denoting the different types of cancer with which people may be diagnosed. The club also made it possible for each patient to receive a pair of socks and a grocery store gift card.

Debbie Burkhardt, director of Radiation Oncology at MVH, said “Patients are very touched by this gesture and are able to take home an ornament of their choice as a memory and as an encouragement.”

The Mrs. Santa Claus Club of Bentleyville is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring comfort to cancer patients.
