The Southwestern Pennsylvania Registered Nurses Club awarded seven scholarships in May. The criteria is based on academic standing, merit and need.
Applicants official home of residence must be in one of the following counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver. Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington, and Westmoreland. Each applicant must be entering his or her senior year in a diploma, associated degree, bachelor degree or final semester of a graduate nursing program.
Arielle Otero and Alexander Russo of the University of Pittsburgh each received a Nancy Barclay Memorial Scholarship.
Cassandra Hamilton of Waynesburg University received a combined Judy Breidigan Memorial Scholarship with the Club's monetary gift.
Victoria Dubos of Western Pennsylvania School of Nursing received a combined Lee Weaver Memorial Scholarship with the Club's monetary gift.
Jena Szelong of Indiana University of Pennsylvania received the Club's scholarship.
Jane Rutkowski of Robert Morris University received the Club's scholarship.
Ruth Ann Constanza of Waynesburg University received the Mary Agnes Powers Memorial Scholarship.
The 17th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser Card Party will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the South Hills Country Club. All proceeds will be used for scholarships in 2017. The club has awarded over $247,500 since 1962. The public is invited to attend the fund raiser luncheon. There will be raffles, a Chinese auction, Share the Wealth, etc.
You may play cards or just socialize from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon; cost is $30. Call Betty at 412-655-9420 for reservations.
