Library News

Starting in January 2015, the hours of Monessen Public Library & Cultural Center will change.

The Library will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on Friday and Sunday, and open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please note the change.

As a New Year resolution, Library patrons are asked to increase their circulation of materials checked out from the library. Instead of purchasing books, please either borrow an item in our collection, or arrange for an interlibrary loan from another library to be sent to Monessen for pick-up. Make the library a place you visit often!

The Library is looking for a dedicated volunteer interested in doing handyman chores. This would include small repairs, changing light bulbs, and keeping the building in good condition. If interested, please contact Library Director Dave Zilka at 724-684-4750, or stop by during regular business hours.

Support the library - raffle tickets to benefit the Library are available for a $2 donation at the front circulation desk. There is also a hockey-themed basket raffle provided by two library supporters.

Overindulge in holiday fun? The Library has a large selection of weight loss manuals, fitness books and cookbooks to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Come down and start the New
