Classic Film Series
Monessen Public Library announces its new “2nd & 4th Friday Classic Film Series.” Movies will be screened every 2nd and 4th Friday at 7 p.m. in the Fireplace Lounge area of the library.

Children’s librarian Jill Godlewski has scheduled family classics for the 2nd Friday, and Library Director Dave Zilka will host a variety of favorite Hollywood classics on the 4th Friday.

This month’s films are The Littlest Rebel starring Shirley Temple on Friday, Feb. 8 and Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece North By Northwest on February 22. Doors open at 6:30 for popcorn, cartoons, and pre-movie discussions. (As this program is an after-hours event, regular library services such as computer time or book check-outs will not be available.)

For more information about this or any Monessen Library program or service, call 724-684-4750 or check the library website MonessenLibrary.org.

New StoryTime Hours at Monessen Library
MPLkids has added two sessions of StoryTime at Monessen Library. In addition to the current StoryTime sessions on Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and Monday evening at 6 p.m., families can now hear a story at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday mornings and at 11 a.m. on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. For more information, email questions or suggestions to: JILL.MPLkids @ gmail.com or call 724-684-4750.

Monessen StoryTime Guest Reader
On the last Monday evening of every month, Monessen Library welcomes a member of the community to be a guest reader at StoryTime.

On February 25 at 6 p.m., Monessen Library Board President Madeline Dudas will be reading to children and their families. Because February is National Dental Health Awareness Month, Mrs. Dudas will share Nice Try, Tooth Fairy by Mary W. Olson. The StoryTime program also includes light refreshments at 5:30 and an art project.

If you would like to be a StoryTime reader, please call 724-684-4750 or email Jill.MPLkids@gmail.com.

Monessen Public Library is located at 326 Donner Ave. in Monessen.
