Celebrating their grand opening at Crossroads Court in the Donaldsons Crossroads Shopping Center on Sunday, June 30 was the Dozen Bake Shop & Bistro.

The combination bakery and restaurant offers not only cupcakes, cakes, cookies and many other specialty baked goods but a full service menu of unique selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The business also offers catering services.
The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was promoted by the Peters Township Chamber of Commerce and attended by local government leaders, Kiss Radio 96.1 and even an Elvis impersonator. Owner Doreen Valentine, who also operates Dozen Bake Shop in Lawrenceville, said she was very excited about their new location. Valentine is a former Peters Township resident who now lives in Whitehall.

Dozen’s claims to fame include their Official Cupcake of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Also, their cake decorator is Megan Hart, whose creations are so impressive that she was chosen among thousands of applicants to compete on the TV show “Next Great Baker”.
A look at their bistro menu reveals such items as special omelets, crème brule French toast, “sammies”, and eggs benedict for breakfast; burgers and sandwiches such as shrimp and crab “po” boy, open face Rueben and the godfather for lunch; and main courses like chicken Madera, seared salmon, English bistro broil, crab cakes and fried chicken for dinner.
