Charleroi is welcoming a new business to town and that business belongs to Doctor David Gobbie, Chiropractor, a Mon Valley native who went to Belle Vernon High School.

“Ideal Weight Loss” is located at 329 Fallowfield Avenue, in the heart of Charleroi’s business district. Gobbie who is a 1997 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, got his Chiropractic degree from Palmer Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2003 and then shortly returned to open his first office, located in Pleasant Hills.
Dr. Gobbie, who comes from a large Italian family of health professionals and currently resides in Bethel Park, just opened his new Charleroi location in January. “Charleroi has been good to me and other business’ recommended the location.” he said.
Dr Gobbie is enthusiastic and excited about bringing the Ideal Weight Loss Program to Mon Valley.
“Customers can come in for one-on-one diet coaching,” said Gobbie who has been doing nutritional counseling since 2006, incorporating, “Standard Process” nutritional supplements. From there nutritional counseling garnered into a weight loss program that combines coaching and one to one counseling with a food product line.
“We want to put the body into ketosis, which is fat-burning mode,” he said. “However, we want to do that without losing muscle and for that we need proteins.” Pharmaceutical grade protein is used in the Ideal Weight Loss program, along with individual encouragement and coaching through phone calls, a newsletter and email.
Gobbie currently has between 100 – 150 clients between the Pleasant Hills and the Charleroi locations. He is certified in NUCCA – National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association He worked a year in Wisconson perfecting this technique which involves the neck and “full spin” adjustments that focus on the upper cervical area.
He is enjoying moving back to the area he grew up in and hopes to bring better health to Mon Valley.. “It is neat reconnecting with the people here. I know several businesses and owners in the area and I am very happy to be here.”
