The Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce won the 3rd Annual Chamber Softball Challenge over the Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce on September 17 at Charleroi Veteran's Field. The MVRCC has won the "Chamber Pot" for the last three consecutive years.

During the pre-game warm-ups at the Ringgold Rams-Knoch game, the Varsity and JV players were joined on the field by players from the Mon Valley Midget Football League (MVMFL). Players from the Union-Finley Bears and the Ringgold youth football organization took part in the pre-game stretches and warm-up drills under the scrutiny of the Rams coaching staff, including Head Coach Nick Milchovich.

The family of long-time Belle Vernon Area basketball and baseball coach Don Asmonga has announced incorporation of a non-profit foundation in his memory. A BVA coach from 1965 through 1988, Asmonga won 279 basketball games including the 1978 WPIAL title. His baseball teams also were steady contenders during his long tenure.
