Seniors

The following information is for the Venetia Community Center, located at 800 Venetia Rd., Venetia, PA. We are sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging.

This month there will be only one luncheon on November 13. All are invited for a Thanksgiving dinner. All that is needed a reservation by calling 724-941-6956 several days before our luncheon, which is prepared at the Canonsburg Senior Center and brought to our center by some faithful volunteers and served by our wonderful kitchen staff for all to enjoy.

The colorful world of "Showboat" with the theme "Come Lose Your Blues" sure helps do just that – this performance put a smile on audience members' faces with a cast of local talented and energetic senior adults. The 28th annual variety show, held at Charleroi High School Auditorium on October 10 and 11, had its first start in 1987 under the production of Dick McVicker.

Seniors for Safe Driving presents highway safety education programs for senior citizens 55 years of age and older. The highway safety programs are certified by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation. The successful completion of the program makes seniors eligible for a 5% discount on their automobile insurance premiums, across the board, for a period of three years. The discount is mandated by PA state law.
