A memorial golf outing has been put together to honor the life and legacy of former New Eagle and Canonsburg resident Brian Anselmino, and to raise funds for two annual scholarships for local high school students. This year’s golf outing will take place on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lindenwood Golf Club in Canonsburg.

Anselmino, a Ringgold High School and Duquesne University standout basketball player and Canonsburg community volunteer, tragically lost his life in an automobile accident on February 22, 2014. His love for his family, friends, co-workers and volunteering his time with youth will never be forgotten. The Brian Anselmino Memorial Fund (BAMF) has been established so that his life's work and passion can continue. All proceeds from the golf outing will benefit the BAMF which provides two $5,000 scholarships annually to Ringgold and Canon-McMillan School Districts.

Held on the third weekend of September, this annual tradition is the official kick-off to Washington County’s beautiful fall season. This year’s event will be held on September 19 and 20. The festival features 10 historic covered bridges located throughout Washington and Greene Counties. The locations offer a wide-range of activities, entertainment, crafts, fall flowers and food. Each bridge is sponsored by a local community group, guaranteeing a unique experience.
