On Saturday, June 28, children who enjoy science were in for a real treat when an educator from Carnegie Museum of Natural History brought real dinosaur bones to Monessen Public Library. She showed the fossils and educated the children about them.

Monessen Veterans Council will host the 70th Annual Mon Valley Veterans Day Parade and Celebration on November 8 at Monessen's Eastgate War Memorials. This will be a day-long celebration and parade starting at 2 p.m. honoring the heroes of the Mon Valley.

Join us for a special trip on the Port Authority of Allegheny County's light rail system on Sunday, October 5 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. to celebrate Port Authority's 50th Anniversary. March 1, 1964 was the start of Port Authority transit operations in and around Pittsburgh and many improvements have been made since then. This will be the first public fan trip on this system in 15 years!
