On Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4, the Grand Theater in Elizabeth Borough took crowds back to simpler days, when the big screen was all it took to entertain. They hosted their 8th annual Stoogefest.

long with showing a total of five short films of the well-known Stooges with an intermission, the theater also showed informative interviews, clips, and behind-the-scenes footage of screwball comedians. Not only was the evening full of chuckles from all ages, ranging from 8 years old up to the well-seasoned Stooge fans, it provided a cheap and fun evening for the guests attending the event.

When the first few years of Stoogefest began, it ran for one evening and sold out quickly. Since then, Stoogefest is now spread out over two nights with 60 - 80 seats being filled each night. The patrons also enjoyed nostalgic snacks from the concession stand, which included buttered popcorn, boxed candy, and refillable fountain drinks or bottled water.

Stoogefest is one of the many onscreen events that the theater hosts. They work alongside the non-profit Mon River Arts. Coming up next, Seussical is an upcoming onstage musical running from December 14-17 that welcomes the performers of the Mon River Arts entertainers.
