The fourth annual "Celebrate America" festivity, held on July 19 from noon – 10 p.m. at the Boat Launch in Monessen, was sponsored by the American Medical Community Foundation. The event featured many festivities and activities, bringing people together in fellowship and paying tribute to our service people.

On Wednesday, June 18, 2014 the Charleroi Rotarians were visited by Breann Clark and her mother, Michele Clark. Miss Clark is the recipient of the 2014 Rotary Club Scholarship, awarded to a graduate of Charleroi High School.

A group of dancers led by Paul Tobacco (wearing sunglasses on the right) display their fancy footwork at the outdoor oldies event at Stockdale.

More than 500 people enjoyed a free outdoor Oldies Appreciation Dance at the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department's recreation complex. The event was presented by the firemen to express their gratitude to the thousands of people that have supported their dances over the past 57 years.

The Valley Garden Club held a beautifully patriotic and most well-received standard flower show themed, "Red, White and Bloom," from 1-6 p.m., July 10, at the Monessen Public Library and Cultural Center. It was free for the public to enjoy.
