Clairton Park will become the setting for an exciting evening of amateur boxing when the 1st Annual ‘Jim Cerqua Hands Up Guns Down: Showdown in the Park’ takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
The event will feature top amateur boxers from Western Pennsylvania and beyond. Doors will open at 3:00 p.m., with the first bout scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
The event will be hosted by Clairton mayor, Jim Cerqua, and Steven Upsher, a retired top world-rated professional boxer. The event is also associated with Star Status Boxing and the Champions in Life Association.
Admission is $10 for children and $15 for adults, making the event an opportunity for families and members of the surrounding communities to come together and support local amateur boxing and the young athletes taking part.
The Jim Cerqua Hands Up Guns Down: Showdown in the Park will bring the excitement of amateur boxing while embracing Clairton pride and highlighting the event’s message of youth empowerment and building champions.
