The Rotary Club of Pleasant Hills proudly recognized Jimmy Jones with its Unsung Hero Award during the club's annual Recognition Night, honoring an individual whose quiet dedication, unwavering commitment, and selfless service have made a lasting impact on both the club and the community.

Jimmy's service extends far beyond the day-to-day needs of the club. As a member of the U.S. Navy Seabees Veterans of America, he coordinated the Rotary Club's Epic Day of Service at Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer, bringing together Rotarians and fellow Seabees for a day of community improvement and fellowship. Through his leadership and partnerships, volunteers completed projects that benefited the camp and demonstrated the power of organizations working together in service to others.

Rarely seeking recognition, Jimmy truly embodies Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self." His dependable nature, positive attitude, and willingness to do whatever is needed have earned the admiration and appreciation of every club member.

"Jimmy is the kind of person every organization hopes to have," said Club President Cynthia Weiss. "He never asks for the spotlight, but he is always there when someone needs help. His kindness, loyalty, and servant's heart have made him an important part of our Rotary family."

Our club’s Unsung Hero Award recognizes individuals whose contributions often go unnoticed by the public but are essential to an organization's success. Jimmy's countless hours of service, unwavering support, and genuine care for others make him a truly deserving recipient.  Whether he's setting up before a meeting, lending a hand at an event, coordinating large-scale service projects, or quietly stepping in wherever help is needed, Jimmy never seeks recognition. His reward has always been seeing others succeed—a quality that makes him the perfect recipient of the Rotary Club of Pleasant Hills' Unsung Hero Award.

The Rotary Club of Pleasant Hills congratulates Jimmy Jones on this well-earned recognition and thanks him for the many ways he continues to make a difference. His quiet acts of service remind us that some of the greatest heroes are the ones who work behind the scenes, expecting nothing in return except the opportunity to serve.
