Student painters begin painting their pictures on July 21, at the senior center during class.

Monessen Center for Active Adults held their monthly ‘Paint with Casey’ class event on July 21, 2026, at 1:00PM. This month the group painted a “beachy scene.” The talented class instructor is Casey Clark.

Clark, from Charleroi, is the owner of Off the Wall Arts in Charleroi, a business that is celebrating 13 years in the community. She has been an artist since she was a youth and says, “I have passed down the artistry through decades and am happy to give my talents to others.”

Clark said that there are many benefits of painting for seniors. “Just a sense of calmness and artistry. They can let their inner artistry shine. I encourage them to go outside the box. It’s heartwarming to me.”

During the class, Clark instructed step-by-step to joyously paint the picture of one’s dreams. “See that, it’s magic,” she exclaims. “Magic island,” a student added. Everyone’s pictures turned out beautifully and a good time was had by all.

If you’d like to learn to paint, come join the fun at the Center. Or Clark welcomes new students to visit her studio at Off the Wall Arts, 332 Mckean Ave., Charleroi. She said that she can teach anyone to paint or draw.

Next month’s picture to paint at the Center will be a Sunflower. The Monessen Senior Center is located at 1925 Grand Blvd., Monessen. Cost of the class is $10. You must RSVP ahead at 724-684-6105.
