The Rotary Club of Pleasant Hills proudly awarded eight scholarships to outstanding local Interact students during a recent meeting. These scholarships recognize students who exemplify Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” through leadership, volunteerism, and dedication to their schools and communities.

Scholarship recipients from Brentwood High School were Nia Aten and Fatima Ismael. Thomas Jefferson High School recipients included Kaci Byrne, Hannah Oleyar, and Alivia Zulka. Representing South Park High School were Grace Kempton, Sophia Hale, and Kimberlin Ernst.
The Rotary Club of Pleasant Hills sponsors Interact Clubs at Brentwood, Thomas Jefferson, and South Park, encouraging students to become involved in community service projects, leadership opportunities, and volunteer efforts throughout the year.
“These students continuously give their time and energy to helping others and improving their communities,” said Rotary Club President Cindy Weiss. “We are proud to recognize their hard work, leadership, and commitment to service.”
The scholarships were presented during the club’s regular Tuesday meeting in front of Rotary members, family, friends, and school representatives. The Rotary Club congratulates all of the recipients and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors.
