Misfits Coven, a vegan woman-owned micro sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating at-risk farmed animals, proudly announces the appointment of Jason Myers to its Board of Directors.
A longtime vegan and passionate advocate for animals, Myers brings more than three decades of marketing experience to the nonprofit’s leadership. He got his start doing publicity for concert promoters and indie record labels. He’s currently the VP of Public Relations for The Content Factory, where he’s led campaigns for global nonprofits such as Fairtrade America and Veterinarians International, as well as eco-conscious brands like POLYWOOD and Fracture.
“Jason’s blend of creative vision, compassion, and strategy will elevate Misfits Coven’s mission to new heights,” said Britt Menhart, founder of the sanctuary. “As a volunteer, he’s proven that he’s willing to roll up his sleeves and work hard for the animals who are so often forgotten. With his experience in purpose-driven marketing, he was the ideal choice to fill this position on our board as we navigate our 5th year.”
Based in Prosperity, PA, just north of Waynesburg in Greene County, Misfits Coven serves as a safe haven for abandoned, abused, and neglected farmed animals. The sanctuary focuses on education, vegan advocacy, and the connection between animals and the humans who care for them.
As the founder and bassist for the band ‘Icarus Witch’ (who are hosting a fundraising concert for 3 regional animal shelters August 23 at Former Pittsburgh Penguin Ken Wregget's 31 Sports Bar in Bridgeville), Myers has deep roots in the DIY music scene and sees his appointment as a return to purpose:
“Misfits Coven is more than a sanctuary — it’s a symbol of love, justice, and change. I was drawn to the organization’s fun yet edgy marketing and ties to nature-based spirituality. Everything in this Coven is centered around working hard to make the world a better place for animals and nature. I’ve been a supporter for a long time and am honored to help Britt and company spread their compassionate story to a wider audience. Many covens profess ‘Harm None’ – Misfits Coven walks the walk and I’m here for it.”
